The Art of Eight Limbs
Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand, and is one of the premier striking arts in the world. Known for its devastating strikes at range as well as in the clinch, “muaythai” is called the art of eight limbs. Kicks, punches, knees, elbows, and sweeps are all part of this powerful martial art.
The style focus at ATA Canada is the “dutch” style, with a heavy emphasis on high volume and strong boxing. Classes focuses on developing physical and mental toughness in an art that is pressure tested both in the ring and the cage. Classes have a strong emphasis on safety as well as fun so that students of all levels can train. Students will be required to have the correct safety gear as well as good sportsmanship, as they will train for recreation as well as competition.
If you are an experienced striker or brand new to the sport, contact coach Dan and get ready to have some fun!
